Montgomery Cancer Center began in 1990 as the merger of three private Montgomery medical oncology practices. In 1991, radiation oncologists located their practice on the Montgomery Cancer Center campus. In 1996, the medical and radiation oncologists combined their resources and expertise; a whole new level of care was made available, yielding convenience, continuity, and “world-class” care.

In 2002, Carmichael Imaging and Montgomery Breast Center were added to provide a complete radiology department. Since its inception, Montgomery Cancer Center has become one of the largest freestanding centers in the United States .
